Travel Wardrobe Etiquette
No matter where you travel in the world, you’ll usually come across issues of clothing etiquette, either stated or implied. Obviously, in some countries your travel wardrobe will be more important than in others, so it’s a good idea to gather your trip advice well ahead of time and prepare your travel wardrobe in accordance with the necessary travel etiquette.

Travel Style Tips: How To Dress Appropriately
by Victoria Ugarte
With Qatar winning the rights to host the 2022 World Cup, this tiny sheikdom on the northeasterly coast of the Arabian peninsula will become an increasingly popular travel destination.
Being a predominantly Muslim country, the appropriate dress code may pose a bit of a dilemna for a lot of women traveling there from more “liberal” countries. However, it would be unwise to overlook this issue of cultural correctness, as the way a woman dresses in a country with a more conservative culture may influence how the locals view and treat her.

New York City: Fashion Nirvana
by Isobel Martin
I was lucky enough to study fashion and marketing at The Fashion Institute of Technology located in the heart of New York City. After living in New York for 3.5 years I gained a strong understanding about the hip places to go, eat and of course the places to shop. New York is a city where creativity walks the streets and new looks and designs hit the stores on a daily basis.
After 6 years away from my favourite city I made it back last September for New York Fashion Week. ... READMORE

Robert Louis Stevenson.

How To Look Fabulous in a Recession
by Kandy Russo
"Pare Down" has been my catch cry for some time! Pare down everything, your environment, your wardrobe, your life. In these interesting times, we can't afford to look ostentatious on any level. The look now is "Classic Chic", simply achieved by buying better but buying less. There is no reason or excuse not to look and feel fabulous everyday. All it takes is a little thought and planning. You don't have to "put all your money on your back" anymore, as my father would sa... READMORE

Roots & Wings Design, Berry (NSW)
By Victoria Ugarte
Traipsing through the quaint streets of Berry one warm Monday afternoon in November, I stumbled on a gorgeous store with the mysterious name of Roots and Wings. Fascinated by the name, the ornate verdigris logo out the front and the lush ivy scaling its walls, I had to go in and have a look. The impact on entering this beautiful store was enough for me to abandon Peter without a word and lose myself to retail therapy and heavenly merchandise.
Roots & Wings was established in Berry, on the beautiful South Coast of ... READMORE

For as long as I can remember I've been dying to go to the Melbourne Cup. Funnily enough, only now that I have moved half way across the world to Mumbai, I finally managed to get myself there.
Now by no means am I completely new to the races. I’ve had plenty of fun days out with the girls drinking way too much champagne at Sydney's Randwick Racecourse, and more recently was able to spy some fabulous examples of Indian fashion at Mumbai's Derby Day. But to me the Melbourne Cup was unfamiliar territory, an entirely new ball game!
For you fellow no... READMORE

Notes from Paris…
When I was on an FGI fashion tour in Paris, I went to see the "Little Black Dress Shop". It is an appointment only deal, Didier Ludot Dominique is a collector and keeps one of each couture dress. Usually in size 4, they design and produce 13 a season (lucky number to the Parisians) each year with a different lace seam trim. "You see, La Petite Robe Noire book," explained Dominique "the Little Black Dress is perfect, one can change it with the jewellery or what ever for any occasion, it gives the woman allure, glamour. Every woman ... READMORE

Strolling through the exclusive shopping mall of Wailea, Maui last September, I despaired as store after exclusive store of funereal shades graced the windows. This was Maui, after all!! The quality, finishing and fabrications of the garments on display were exquisite, faultless (as were the price tags), but wasn’t fashion meant to be the antidote for the doom and gloom of the times? The last thing I needed at this time of financial crisis was more sober and somber clothes. What happened to the fashion that sent my pulses racing and put a smile on my ... READMORE
