Celebrity Traveler: Annah Stretton

Annah Stretton is a hard act to follow.

As one of New Zealand’s leading fashion designers, publisher of “Her Magazine”, business mentor, motivational speaker, wife and mother, the above sentence is quite an understatement! “Postcards From Millie” asked Annah Stretton some personal questions about her favourite travel destinations, likes and dislikes. Annah was more than happy to share with us an insight into her world.

PFM: Annah, what are your favourite travel destinations and why?

AS: The Pacific Islands, for relaxation, and New York and Paris, for shopping.

PFM: What is your favourite hotel for business? For pleasure?

AS: Interestingly enough, one of my favourite hotels in the world is in Auckland, New Zealand, and it’s called “Mollies”. They really do things beyond expectations. I love this place! In Dublin, the Dylan Hotel is the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at. It even stocked the New Zealand Huia Pinot!

PFM: Where did you travel to last month?

AS: I didn’t travel outside New Zealand last month, but several times to Auckland and within NZ for my mentoring and speaking engagements.

PFM: You and your husband, Tony, are spoilt with great food and fabulous wines at home, making you both more discerning than most when eating out. During your travels, which restaurant gave you the most memorable culinary experience?

AS: Fresh baguettes, creamy French Brie and a fabulous bottle of Red, in a park in the middle of Paris! It was Summer, and Paris is the most beautiful city to be in love in!

PFM: Please share with us what are the 5 essential travel accessories that you absolutely cannot do without?

AS:
1) Great walking shoes, with a fashion flavour of course.

2) Black pants with Lycra, that allows for comfortable yet smart business travel.

3) An umbrella that lasts the distance and fits in my handbag.

4) Small notebook and pen that fit into my handbag, to note the continuous, great ideas that come from being in a new environment.

5) Penicillin. I never travel without it, as I never want to get sick on holidays.

PFM: What is the biggest gripe when you travel?

AS: Wine lists with nothing great to offer. Great wines are all part of a great traveling experience.

PFM: And lastly, what would you consider to be your most unforgettable travel experience?

AS: Phuket, with my two kids. Even though it was the rainy season, nothing can beat an action packed family holiday with the ones that you love the most. From riding elephants, to chasing sea gypsies, I loved it. We all loved it!!

Annah Stretton is gorgeous!!! What she does and her works can't live anyone indifferent. The care of silhouettes and textures to the smallest detail is astonishing. Eclectic winter was something I still can't forget. Thank you for being with us!
