2 March '10 - What a Lady in Sapa Taught Me About Women Connecting PDF Print E-mail

I love travel moments.

I am continually amazed by the seemingly random connections that one makes along our journeys that manage to weave themselves into the rich tapestry of our lives.

Most of all, I love the heartfelt connections that women can make with each other across the world, regardless of race and culture. And no story is more beautiful than the one that was just shared with me by Svea Pitman of the Catherine Freeman Foundation below.

I met an amazing woman while traveling through the village of Sapa, Vietnam, last year. Although I was only there for 5 days, we spent time together every day. We developed a heartfelt connection, like sisters from another life. When it was time for me to leave, we exchanged email addresses and I gave her a ring that I had had for over 10 years. She ran after our car as it drove off, both of us with tears streaming down our faces."

"I thought I had lost contact with her when I did not hear from her for over a year, until I received an email from her via a tourist from the Netherlands. She had managed to track me down, despite having given me the wrong email address! I can't wait to take my kids back to her village so that they can meet her and her family."

Create Connections with Like-Minded Women!

Like Svea, it does pay to go out on a limb and make heartfelt connections with like-minded women.

Think about it! From many one-to-one connections we can create a community which can stretch to the four corners of the world.

Isn't it awesome when we discover a new source of support, nurturing and a common link and purpose?!
