16 Feb., 2010 - A Fan of Van! PDF Print E-mail

Some of you may remember my newsletter in January where I wrote about getting clear on my direction and focus of my business. It was an empowering and liberating process for me. But my next question was, "Am I communicating my message clearly enough to my web visitors?". The answer was not exactly a resounding "Yes".

Did I had spent a lot of money on my website. Yes.

Was it beautiful? Yes.

Was it saying what I really wanted it to say, clearly and effectively?  No.

Did the visitors to my site know exactly what I was offering without having to look too hard? No.

Was I maximizing my website "real estate"? Unfortunately not.

Uh oh, I was in big trouble.

Thankfully, a great mate of mine, Author Antonia Stephenson, recommended an awesome and gutsy lady from New York who could help me make my brand "zing"!

That's when Mary van de Wiel (aka Van), Master Brand Provocateur, came to my rescue!

After filling out an extensive questionnaire about me, my life, my passions and my business (kind of like an internal stock take!), we set up a time for a 1 hour brand audit, Van from her studio in New York and me from my studio in Clovelly (isn't modern technology wonderful!).

With great sensitivity, Van spotted the cracks in my brand and showed me plenty of options to fix them. She offered me ways to uncover the spirit, power and sass of my brand which would offer more value to my customers and enable my visibility and credibility factor to soar. I wrote furiously throughout my brand audit with Van, and by the end of our session I had 14 pages brimming with ideas that I could not wait to implement!

Van, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I've become a raving fan!

If you want to have a chat about what Van can do to make your brand "zing!", we'll be offering her services as a Brand Coach at Postcards From Millie!

I coined the term Brand Provovateur while I was working in Vietnam - maybe partly because of the French Connection there. Here's the original post: http://wildwildeastdai lies.blogspot.com/2009/02/whats-exactly-i s-brand-provoca teur.html

Thanks for the update, David.
I tried to look up your article but the link was not operational. Great term, though.
